In 1865 three countries: Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, signed the treaty of the triple alliance in order to confront with technological resources unheard off until then, the small and progressive Republic of Paraguay.

In 1869, forced by international pressure, the allied nations put an end to the war.

The Paraguayan people lost three quarters of its population. But in Cora Hill remain 409 survivors out of the one hundred thousand men that stood up against the invaders.

The Brazilian emperor has ordered to kill Cora Hill´s defenders and to hunt alive their chier, the marshal  Francisco Solano Lopez.
