JORGE HORACIO HUERTAS

Licentiate in Psychology (UCA) (Catholic University Argentina) 1972,

Specialist in Human systems and communication.

Practitioner in Neuro-linguistic programming. Systemic Therapist for Family and Couples.

Coauthor of the book “The Human Couple, a situational analysis”, Nueva Vision, 1980.

He has been practising as a Therapist in Clinical Psychology for 29 years, publicly and privately. He is currently engaged in Institutional Communication, Orgnisational Systems and in coaching professional businessmen, teachers and managers of different private and public organisations. He also gives a course of studies on Working Development.

Former member of The Psychology Department of the Hospital “Bernard de Houssay” in Vicente Lopez.

Former member of The Psychology Department of the Rehabilitation Institute of the Disabled of Vicente Lopez.

He has written many papers in various Congresses concerning his major field of studies.

Teacher of Psychopathology in the National School of Occupational Therapy, dependent of the National Comission of Rehabilitation during 1980-1982.

He participates as attendant and coordinator at the First Balint Groups in Argentina for anesthetists, architects and lawyers.

Member of the Directive Comission of the Systemic Association of Buenos Aires during 1992-1993.

Consulting Member of the First International Encounter of Social Networks, taking place in Buenos Aires in 1994.

He has been attending workshops, seminars and courses on Human Communication and interpersonal relations.

Advisor on Institutional Communication in the Association of Aid for the Maternal Lactation “Ñuñú” 1990-1996.

He is trained by Lic. Adela Garcia following Tom Andersen's Method, creator of the reflecting team and one of the most important specialists in conversation systems. He attends numerous seminars on the different occasions in which Andersen comes to Argentina.

He participates on the supervision and training for the development of conversations for the resolution of problems, by Adela Garcia.

In 2005 he gives the workshop “Significative Conversations. Reflecting Teams in Action”, in the Integral Development Institute, sponsored by Lomas de Zamora University.

As an actor, in his youth, he performs in different plays such as “La Pucha”, by Oscar Viale, “The Love of Don Perlimplin and Belisa in the garden”, by Federico Garcia Lorca, “Torquemada” by Augusto Boal, “Wood Paint” by Ingmar Bergman and “Peer Gynt”, by Ibsen, attending various national festivals.

As an actor he is trained by Roberto Duran with whom he forms part of the “South Theatre Company” presenting the last two plays mentioned above.

He is currently a member of the play writing workshop formed by Susana Gutierrez Posse, Susana Poujol, Susana Torres Molina, Lucía Laragione, Víctor Winer y Héctor Levy-Daniel. 

He is author and director of “Agapito, the traveling fish” a musical comedy for kids with which he goes on a tour throughout the province of Buenos Aires during 2002, sponsored by the Subsecretary of Culture of the Province of Buenos Aires. Agapito is presented in 60 cities, towns, schools, clubs and school dinnings and in the Auditorium Theatre in Mar del Plata during Winter holidays and also during Summer holidays in 2003 in the same city, in the Payro Room of the Auditorium Theatre. During 2003 Agapito is presented in schools and in October 2004 it has its revival in the city of Buenos Aires, at the Terraza del Paseo La Plaza.

He co-directs “Scenes of popular life: Evita, Santos Vega, Juan Moreira y Ringo Bonavena”,  a Creole circus entertainment performed at the Centro Cultural Recoleta, sponsored by the Subsecretary of Culture of the Province of Buenos Aires, directed by Hernán Haedo and with scenographic murals by Roberto Paéz, Tulio de Sagastizabal, Luis Scafati and other artists.

He writes “South Cross” and “Subway”, for which he is given the Coca-Cola Award 1982 and the Argentores Award 1983 for the category of Drama.

“South Cross” has been performed many times by different Theatre Companies in Argentina and abroad. The 1997 performance, by the university theatre of Universidad de la Colina (Canary Islands, Spain)stands out. “South Cross” has been performed many times and is chosen in 1987 and 1988 by the Comedy of the Province of Buenos Aires for its annual provincial tour around more than 80 localities and municipalities and for its national tour.

He is also author of “Walking without thought” (2000) which is given an award for Latin authors by the Stage Repertory Theatre. This play is presented in 2003 at the Teatro del Pueblo and in September 2004 in Bilingual Talent Theatre of Houston, in Houston (Texas, EE.UU). 

In November 2000 he presents his book “Three Urban Comedies” which includes “A friendship of many years”, “Something with you” and “Password”,  by Biblos Editorial.

"Password" participates in the Second National Contest of the National Theatre Institute and is awarded with a Mention. It is also chosen, representing the Province of Buenos Aires, in the publication of the book by the National Theatre Institute. “Password” is also performed by the Comedy of the Province of Buenos Aires in October 2003; and together with “Walking without thought” is part of the Cycle of Read Theatre in October 2004 in the “Theatre of the Moon” at the oval room of the Argentinian Embassy in Washington DC (USA).

His play “The innocent” is selected for the Theatre for the Identity, organised by the Plaza de Mayo's grandmothers, in April, May and June 2001.

In September 2001, his version of Sophocles's masterpiece, “AntigoneS: women's lineage” participates in the First International Festival of Ancient Greek Theatre of Kalamata, with performances in Kalamata, Pilos and Athens.

In October 2001 his play “Walking without thought” gets the second award of the International Contest of Theatre of “Casa del Teatro” of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

In 2002 the book “Day's news” which gathers short plays by Argentenian and Spanish playwrights is published in Spain. His play is titled “Aguada Quehué”. In September of that same year “AntigoneS: women's lineage” has its national performance in the Argentenian Theatre of the city of La Plata, directed also by Roberto Aguirre with the presentation of two large concertinas or bandoneons, a string quartet and piano; during November it is presented in the National Library of the City of Buenos Aires at the Jorge Luis Borges Auditorium.

Also in November the book of that same play is published by Biblos Editorial with a preface by Mauricio Kartun and Leandro Pinkler.

In March 2003 “Walking without thought” is directed by Mario Rolla in the Teatro del Pueblo.

In April 2003 he presents a short play about the artist Lucio Fontana's masterworks called “The slash”. It's part of “Tryptich” directed by Marcela Rodríguez Blanco at the Konex Foundation, with some other plays about Francis Bacon and Frida Kalho.

In October 2003 the Comedy of the Province of Buenos Aires Company presents, for the first time, his play “Password” at the Discépolo Theatre in La Plata, directed by José Glusman.

In March 2004 his play “Crac” is part of the cycle of short plays “The 9” which has the desert as its main subject. In September and October 2004, he also participates with his play “Heaven's Earth” in the EXILIOS cycle, together with other Argentenian and Spanish authors of the Teatro del Pueblo, Buenos Aires. That cycle gets a Mention in the María Guerrero Theatre Award of 2004.

In August 2004 his play “Password” is presented in Formosa, directed by Sergio Olarza.

In April “Walking without thought” is presented for the first time, under the direction of Federico Pallazzo, in the City of Buenos Aires; and “Password” is also presented for the first time in Santiago del Estero, Argentina, directed by Pablo Cabanillas.

In 2006 he publishes “Surubí”, for puppets and actors.

In October 2007 “AntigoneS: women's lineage” is presented for the first time in the Teatro Estable de Villa María (Córdoba, Argentina).

Also, in October of that same year he participates in the cycle of Theatre for the Identity in the Alfil Theatre in Madrid, Spain, organised by the grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo. 

In April and May 2008 he presents a theatre cycle “Huertas' Kitchen”in the North Repertoire Theatre in Vicente López, Province of Buenos Aires, with (5) five unpublished plays: “The Italian Blouse”, “The strike”, “Satori”, “Surubí” and “Mamma”.

In July 2008 he is chosen, in a contest of candidates' backgrounds, as the playwright who represents the first region of the Province of Buenos Aires, for the Comedy of the Province of Buenos Aires programme “Theatre and History”.

Since 2001 various of his published works are presented throughout the country.

He is a Script Literary advisor in “I may be a wretch but I love you” by Carlos Galetini, and he is also an actor and acting trainer for “Fire eyes” by Jorge Gaggero, chosen by contest and sponsored by the National Film Institute for his cycle “Short Stories 1996”.

In Television he participates as a screenwriter for the complete three-years cycle “Men of law”, broadcasted by ATC, winner of: Martín Fierro Award in 1987 and 1988, Prensario Award 1988 and Ondas Award 1988 (Barcelona, Spain).

He is co-screenwriter in the “Fictions” cycle, directed by Sergio Renan, with Elias Castelnuovo's and Rodolfo Walsh's short stories adaptations.

He is also screenwriter for the “Di Maggio” cycle and participates in the series “Laberynths”, performed by Gustavo Bermudez and broadcasted by Channel 13.

Co-screenwriter of “Angela I love you”, together with Horacio Del Prado y Carlos Galettini, about a short story by Juan Sasturain.

Co-screenwriter of the film “Lonely”, together with the director José Glusman, which is presented for the first time in August 2006.

Co-screenwriter, together with the Screenwriting Director of the film “Lonely”.

In December 2005 Biblos Editorial publishes his first novel “The transparent kids”

He is part of the jury in the Theatre Contest for the Juvenile Tournament of Buenos Aires, for the 2000 pupils' category. Also part of the jury in the cycle of read Theatre of Argentores (Argentenian  Society of Authors) 2004.  

He presents his paper on “Methodology, experience and process in a writing and creativity workshop” at the Second Playwrights Congress organised by Argentores (Argentenian  Society of Authors) in Mar del Plata, November, 2000.

In 2000 he is also part of the Council of Honor of the Theatre Workshop of the University of La Plata.

He is invited to be part of a Drama Writing and Creativity Seminar at the Regional Encounter of Theatre, May 2001, in the cities of Mar del Plata and Junin, Province of Buenos Aires. 

He presents his paper “Conversations that make the creative process happen” at the Artistic Education Congress in Tandil, Province of Buenos Aires, June 2001.

In September 2004 he gives a Seminar on writing and creativity at the Saint Thomas University in Houston, Texas, invited by Prof. Elsa Zambosco-Thomas.

He has been giving Drama Writing Workshops (in groups and privately) in Pilar, Avellaneda, Vicente López, Junín, Tornquist, Mar del Plata, and other cities of the Province of Buenos Aires and in the City of Buenos Aires.

He gives a workshop at the Provincial Theatre Festival of the Province of Buenos Aires 2002.

He presents a paper on “Drama Writing Workshop: the building up of a conversation field about the crative process”, during the XI National and Ibero-American Congress of Theatre in the city of Buenos Aires, August 2002. 

In October 2008, Prof. Odile Bouchard presents, at the University of Rouan (France), the thesis “Childhood in Argentenian Literature, from the 50's to the present days”, which includes an extensive analysis of his novel “The transparent kids”.

In November 2008 he gets a Mention at the Theatre Contest of the City of Buenos Aires, “B” Category (unpublished and not yet presented plays, corresponding to 2000/2001 production), for his play “AntigoneS: women's lineage”; given by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires.

In September 2009 his play “The Mother land's Pantheon” is given the First Award of the National Contest of the Bicentenary of Theatrical Plays, organised by the National Secretary of Culture, The National Theatre Institute and the National Cervantes Theatre. 

He is currently preparing a new release of 7 unpublished plays, by Biblos Editorial.
