“…Dear
friend, Ben Hassan, with great attention I read your works
and I believe with conviction that you are mature enough to begin the long,
painful and rewarding career of a playwright. I want you to know that you
will always have my support or help, my modest suggestions and opinions (…)
Once more , you surprised me, dedicating yourself to the adaptation of “Pasión
y muerte de Silverio Leguizamon.” Knowing
how demanding Bernardo is, I was in doubt – I beg you accept my apology- and immediately I phoned him to know if he had authorized the adaptation of
the play. Not only did he say yes, but told me
he was very glad with your work, that you had interpreted the essence of
the play like no one had done. He told me that you had in mind a modern scenic
setting, with a lot of rhythm, almost cinematographic.
I
congratulate you, it is not common to have the approval of an author during life
when we are dealing with one of the greatest plays of our theatre (…) I
don’t have to tell you about my support and the auspices of Argentores…” Roberto
Talice, President of ARGENTORES ( Bs.As., April 1969). |
