Argentina was going through a new military attack on the constitution and its institutions. It was the abominable  time of the “ Revolución Libertadora”. Perón was leaving for Paraguay.

Those previous theatrical experiences inspired the creation of  “ Arco Iris” (Rainbow), an independent theatrical group which was made up of twenty young boys and girls who eventually chose him to be their general director. Afterwards, a house was bought but they were too young to sign the papers so their parents helped them. Unforgettable moments!

Soon they were close to the independent theatrical movement.

Out of the blue, he met Onofre Lovero, that great master of the Argentine theatre who became the godfather, guide and artistic manager of the young troupe of actors.

The “Arco Iris” independent dramatic group became one the most successful ones in Argentina, even though they still did not possess their own  theatre.

Under GBH direction, in a decade, they managed to put on more than 15 plays which received several awards.

Dr. Arturo Frondizi becomes president and, even if criticised by some, brought “fresh air” to the drama world.

Ben Hassan and his cast were hired by the City Hall for the first cycle of theatre in the city neighbourhoods. These performances took place in the open air and public squares at first. They  became institutionalised for a period of two years.

Before the end of the decade, he put on and protagonised the first play by Pedro Ogambide “La Vida Prestada”, which won the first prize of the Argentine Drama Cycle awarded by the TV channel 7. The play was shown on TV and their tour was greatly advertised.

This success gave birth to the creation of what GBH called “El Grupo Creador”, formed by great personalities such as: Architect Gaston Breyer at scenography, Mr Eduardo Fasulo in the costumes  and publicity, Mr Norberto Califano in musical direction and Mr Amilcar Casetari as coreographer. For more than twenty years this group formed part of his professional career.

After the great praising that “ La vida prestada” received,  he was invited to represent Argentina in the  “ National exhibition of Independent Theatre” held in the Republic of Uruguay.
